Yes, it mixes, kneads, rises, and bakes bread in three loaf sizes up to 2-1/2 pounds. But its digital controls go much further, offering settings for white, whole wheat, multigrain, and French (crisp crust, open texture) breads, each made according to what's best for that particular style. Other settings permit rapid baking and baking sandwich bread with a soft crust. For raisin (or other dried-fruit) bread, a beeper signals when to add the fruit so it's not crushed during kneading. Crust color--dark or light--can be selected as well. The machine automatically adds yeast at the proper time from a dispenser on the unit's lid. It also bakes non-yeast, quick breads-- like banana and gingerbread--and sweet cakes. And it mixes, kneads, and rises doughs for pizza, focaccia, croissants, and other pastries without baking them. I don't know how good this breadmaker is because it arrived damaged - it was shipped back and I WAS NEVER SHIPPED A REPLACEMENT! Amazon records show I WAS NEVER SHIPPED A REPLACEMENT, but they said because too much time had gone by I was SOL!! BAD BAD JOB AMAZON!!!!

We have made about 10 loaves. No two are the same recipe. That may come from being a retired chemistry reacher. I like to experiment.
Pro. It makes good bread. Very good with no voids and consistant texture inside the crust.
Con. On the light bake crust, the crust is a little dark and harder toward the bottom of the loaf. The text in the onboard settings are not easy to read.
Overall, we have recommended it to family. The sound of it working is music to our ears. Amazon and Panasonic YD250 are good no matter how you slice or spice it.(just butter them up)

I have started eating clean and decided I wanted to start making my own bread. I have no experience in this area at all. The machine was easy to put together and to clean. I have used it twice since I got it on yesterday. I first used the dough mode to make cinnamon rolls from a recipe I found, the dough came of perfect. I was so excited so I decided to make some whole wheat bread. Since, it was late at night, I decided I would use the timer feature. It worked perfectly. I woke up this morning to the smell of fresh bread baking. I'm already starting another loaf of bread. Therefore, I will have used it 3 times within a 24-hour period. This bread maker is easy to use and it works great. If you are new to making bread with bread machines, this bread maker would be great for you.
